Still Her Little Child
Due to unforseen personal circumtances Karen Sudds' class is being
replaced with the following workshop:
Chantal Hunter Gandar, Artistic Director of Corps Bara Dance
Theatre, will be teaching this class which consists of a warm up
and learning a heart-moving choreography to the song "Still Her
Little Child" by Ray Boltz. No dance experience is required and all

Worshiping with Flags
"Worshiping with Flags" is an exhilarating way to praise God! You
are invited to join us for this exciting workshop led by Darlene
West of WESTWORKS Flags who is also on the planning committee of
CDFC. For your convenience, flags will be available for cash
purchase. Adults and children 8 years and older are welcome to a
maximum of 25 people. Class fills up quickly, so please RSVP as
soon as possible to cdfccalgary@gmail.com or

Friday night (the 24th) is Part 1, a FOUNDATIONAL class
which includes scriptures on flags, flagging etiquette, meanings of
colors, heart-attitude of worshiping with flags, training and
techniques for 6 styles of flags, and in-class use of a myriad of
unique and exquisite flags! For this evening, the time will be
6:45 pm - 9:30 pm and the cost will be $20.
Saturday morning (the 25th) is Part 2 of "Worshiping With
Flags". It will focus on using the techniques learned in Part 1 and
is going to be A LOT OF FUN!!! For this morning, the time will be:
9:45 am to 12:00 noon, and suggested offering is $15 ($10
for CDFC members).

- AGE / ABILITY - No previous dance experience needed. Unless
noted, events are open to anyone 16 years or older who loves to
move.
- ATTIRE - It will be best to wear comfortable clothes and soft,
flat-soled shoes, and to bring a water bottle
- ADDRESS - Most events are held at Varsity Bible Church, 4807
Valiant Drive N.W. (west of Shaganappi Trail), North of Market
Mall, off 49th Street. If a session will be at another
location, it will be included in that session's description.
- TIME - Please arrive for 9:45am. Events are approximately 10:00
am to noon.
- SUGGESTED OFFERING - $15 ($10 for CDFC members)

- Monday Nights - Surrey BC Israeli Folk Dance
Marie Welton offers free Israeli folk dance classes every Monday,
at Seaview Pentecostal Church, 14633 - 16th Ave.(North Bluff Road),
White Rock.
6:30-7 - Children's class, 7-9 Children over 10 - Adults. Beginners
are best advised to catch the first half hour (7-7:30) to build
their skills.

participants, guide us in a reflective Lectio Divina (latin for
Divine Reading) on the Biblical passage of the Parable of the
Sower. We will then use phrases, gestures, movement, and rhythm to
express our reflections through prayerful dance. No dance
experience necessary.

Darlene, owner and designer of Westworks Flags. Class includes:

Mary Jones is founder of the International Christian Dance
Fellowship, former Dean of Dance Studies at Wesley Institute
Australia and is presently director of CaraMayan and the ICDF
online Associate Diploma of Dance. Mary will be in Calgary to teach
an all day Teacher Training and Certification class in a system of
movement meditation to Scripture that she has created. She will
also teach a 3 hour Open Workshop as part of the the day. To learn

The open workshop is from 2pm-5pm and costs $25. Teacher training
and certification workshop is from 1:00pm –9:30pm and costs

- Scripture-Inspired Prayer in Movement
Saturday February 26th, 2011 - Calgary AB
“Love each other with genuine affection and take delight in
honouring one another.” Romans 12:10 NLB. Hosted by the
Christian Dance Fellowship and led by Laurel Bridges, Christian
Dance Therapist. This two hour workshop will help us explore our
interactions with each other through scripture based creative
movement experiences. It will include prayer in movement, playful
movement, art experiences and an opportunity to creatively express
some of the “one another” scriptures individually and
with one another. Bring a bible and journal and wear comfortable
clothes.

The Christian Dance Fellowship committee enthusiastically invites

faithfulness through dance. We are very privileged to have Karen
Sudds, Director of Crossings Dance School and Executive Director of
Corps Bara Dance Theatre as guest teacher for our Jan. 22nd
fellowship. Karen is an experienced, delightful and inspiring
teacher. She will begin with a wonderful warm up (bring a yoga mat
or thick towel) which will be followed by a simple and worshipful
choreography to the uplifting hymn "Great is Thy Faithfulness."

- Shake a Leg for Freedom

The Christian Dance Fellowship together with Servants Anonymous
Foundation are hosting a joint fundraiser to help further the work
of freeing women and children from the Sex Trade in recovery homes
in Nepal and around the globe.
There will be an opportunity to hear about SAF and see a DVD of
their latest Educational Film Project. The artistic jewellery of
"Global Wonders" created by women in the Nepal Safe House will be
available to purchase. Carol McNaughton, a teen from our church,
will present a dance that was inspired by her Mission trip to
Nepal. Everyone is invited to join in the action and learn an easy
Nepalese Folk Dance. Refreshments will follow. Saturday April 24th
from 9:45am - 1pm
All donations are going towards the work of SAF and Educational
Film Project.
